National Institute of Technology Raipur Hosts Core Committee Interaction Session on Behavioral Insights Unit (BIU)
Raipur, December 10, 2024: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur, in collaboration with UNICEF, hosted a landmark Core Committee Interaction Session to advance the Behavioral Insights Unit (BIU). The session, held at the CCC Lab, brought together experts from universities, NGOs, and research scholars to explore the application of behavioral science in addressing societal challenges.
The session commenced with a warm welcome and the introduction of committee members, highlighting their expertise and contributions. Miss Aneetha Kasuganti and Rujuta Kambojkar from the Finale Mile Team delivered a compelling presentation on the Behavioral Insights (BI) process. They detailed strategies and findings related to Theme 1: Adolescent Anemia, offering insights into overcoming barriers through behavioral interventions.

The discussion then focused on Theme 2: Child Marriage in Chhattisgarh, where the problem statement was analyzed in depth. The session highlighted the critical role of education as a preventive measure against child marriage and emphasized the need for targeted interventions.
A major takeaway from the event was how it helped research scholars and faculty from various universities grasp the practical application of behavioral sciences in their respective domains. The session also unfolded potential areas where behavioral sciences could make a transformative impact.
Mr. Chanan Rai from UNICEF underscored the importance of behavioral science-led interventions, emphasizing their role in sharpening government policy design and creating sustainable change.
